2nd period
Final presentation

On my freshman year here at international high school, I took the art I class with Mr. Renner. I did a lot of projects throughout the year that were both completely different but somehow connected. I   didn’t like the class at first, I’ll admit to that but I still got through it and worked as hard as I can to get a good finish product on every project I was assigned.
There are 3 particular projects I would like to talk about, the 3 I’m the most proud of doing and the ones I enjoyed the most working on. The first project is the mosse, where I had to duplicate an image using tiny bits of paper and gluing them to creating a complete image. Next is the monochromatic painting, where I was to paint an image using one single color in all its different shades and tints. And last was my piñata, where I created from balloon, glue and paper Mache.
One similarity I found in every one of these projects was: paper. They all involved it in some way, for example: the monochromatic painting was done on top of paper, the mosse was made from tiny bits of paper being glued together to form one single image. And the piata was made from covering a balloon with newspaper to harden the outer shell. Another similarity was color, which was the finishing touch for each one.
One major difference was the ammount of time and patience it took to make each project. the mosse was the most time consuming and cutting paper into tiny bits and regluing to create a single image took more time and patience than both the piñata or the monochromatic painting. the painting took the most patience, trying to find the perfect shades and tints of my chosen color to create contrast and make the painting work. and the piñata seemed fairly easy even though waiting for it to dry and hardened wasn't the most exciting part of the project.
in conclusion, each project assigned was unique in it's own way,but its also related to the previous and the next. and art I was a great learning expirience i'll keep with me throughout all high school and life.

                                                                                                                                                FINAL: fitness plan portfolio

For my final portfolio presentation I was given the choice to pick and teach a specific health related fitness topic along with an activity that focuses on such field. I chose to teach about: muscular endurance, which is pretty much focused on training the body into being able to perform an activity for an extended period of time.

I chose to teach: the plank hold, which is an isometric exercise that helps build endurance in your entire core –rectus abdominus, obliques, lower back and stabilizing muscles. It is a powerful but simple exercise that you can do at home.

How to Perform the Plank Exercise: 1. Lie face down on a mat, 2. Raise up onto your toes and rest on your elbows, 3.* Keep your back flat, keeping your body in a straight line from head to heels, 4. Contract your abs to ensure your body doesn’t drop, 5. Hold position for designated time.

the reason i chose this topic is because muscular endurance is a basic component of physical fitness and it is escential for any good routine, to be able to keep up and endure the workouts.

                                                                                                                                                MY SUMMER FITNESS PLAN:

I dont plan on being able to go to the gym for the summer, but that doesn't mean I wont still do my best to stay healthy, I plan on eating healthy and staying away from junk food or just sitting around all day, i plan on jogging every morning in the local track and working out at least half an hour every night before I go to bed. My goal is to have better toned leg and abs muscles by the end of the summer, and I know it'll take effort to reach that goal, which is why I plan on staying active all summer.
